Special Court Martial
A Special Court Martial is generally convened when the offense/case to be heard is equivalent to a misdemeanor charge in a civilian court.
The types of penalties you could expect can include the following:
- Up to one year in jail/confinement
- Pay grade reductions
- Forfeiture of 2/3 of one month’s pay for up to a year
- Reprimand
- Bad conduct discharge
